Ribbon Cutting Event

for Our New Location at

1300 S Broadway, Oak Grove, MO

February 6, 2021

It was a cold day for the ribbon cutting.  The temperature was about 24 degrees and the snow was blowing, but not sticking at the time.  There were several people touring the museum.  President Pat Costigan and his wife, Mary Jo, along with John and Linda Boyd, Lois Young, Janie Brown, Berta Graham and others worked tirelessly to prepare the building for this memorable day.

If you have the opportunity to visit, you may be overwhelmed with what they have accomplished.  Special thanks to everyone that worked so hard to create such a wonderful addition to the community.  We truly appreciate the support given by the city leaders of Oak Grove for giving us this opportunity to show our collection of photos and artifacts.

City Administrator Matt Randall, Mayor Dana Webb, and City Council members have supported our vision for this museum.  President Pat Costigan has spent many hours working with community leaders and encouraging them to become involved in our endeavor.  We owe him a special "Thank You" for all of his efforts.

We invite you to visit the Oak Grove Historical Society Museum whenever you are in the area.

We are presently open on Saturdays from 10:00 until 2:00.

We do require masks, due to Covid-19 regulations.

Commemorative Heritage Program

Oak Grove Historical Society is undertaking an effort to commemorate and honor the early residents of Oak Grove and those who made their homes in the community. This effort is part of the historical society's plan to eventually establish a building to house the historical memorabilia of our community.

As a part of this endeavor the group is encouraging people to purchase commemorative plaques for their family members. These plaques will be displayed temporarily in the lower level of the Davis building, where the historical society meets, until we are able to move to a permanent location.

A minimum contribution of $50.00 for each ancestor's plaque is requested.

If you would like to purchase a commemorative plaque, please fill out the form by clicking on the link below

and mail to:
Oak Grove Historical Society, P.O. Box 942, Oak Grove, MO 64075
