$10.00 will be charged for the bus
Glen Lewis spoke on his family history that started back in England and continued to Mass. and throughout the country

Oak Grove Historical Society Jan. 16, 2016 members meeting - Davis Center, Oak Grove, MO:
--Meeting called to order at 10:00 am by Pres. Sharon Love, Pledge of Allegiance recited.
--Minutes of last meeting read by Sharon Love in absence of secretary; moved and seconded to accept.
--Treasurer Berta Graham gave the treasurer's report: balance of $3243.47.
Moved & seconded by Becky Dyer and Donna Rice. (see written sheet). No questions about the treasurer's report.
--A proposal by Gerry Stanley to form a Famous Oak Grove people project, which he will do, was moved & seconded
& approved. Motion to accept (by Mary Turner and Cindy Taylor).
--Officer Candidates slate was given and voted on; moved & seconded & approved to accept all candidates for 2016.
Positions are: President, Sharon Love; Vice President, Glen Lewis; Secretary, Jerry Booker; Corresponding Secretary,
Cindy Taylor; Treasurer, Berta Graham.
Board Members at large: Becky Dyer, Anne Hallier. Once bylaws revision is approved, additional board members
will include Gerry Stanley and Pat Lewis.
--Ballots were distributed for voting on changing bylaws, which Sharon read aloud. Under Article 6, it currently reads
"The directors of this corporation shall be 7 in number: 5 elected officers (President, Vice President, treasurer,
corresponding secretary, recording secretary) and a minimum of 4 directors elected by the membership." It is
proposed to change the number of directors from 7 to a minimum of 9. This change will need approval of the
majority of membership, so additional ballots will be mailed to members not attending today. Final results will be
announced at Feb. 2016 meeting.(Today's members cast their votes and ballots were collected).
--There was a suggestion made for next year's Christmas ornament: A photo of the old Hockman Hardware
Store, which Pat Lewis will check on.
--Glen Lewis introduced Linda Owings, today's speaker, to speak on Families Related to
Owings/Spainhour/George/Davis families. A very interesting and entertaining presentation was given.
